Cafe Create

Cafe Create is back in the Prout Bridge coffee bar every Thursday morning 10am - 12.00 noon, during term time.

Run by volunteers, it’s a bright, cheerful space to drink coffee/tea, eat cake, chat, and if you like get creative.

We provide lots of materials to inspire you to get started, and to share know how.

It might be that you come along and simply spend the time chatting over a cuppa, or it may be that you also get engrossed in doing something creative at the same time. Anything you make can either be for you to take home, or we will use them to support other charities.

We are starting off by decorating tote bags – sewing patchwork, embroidering, covering in buttons- whatever you feel inspired to do!  If you don’t want the bag for yourself, it will be used by PottersHeart  www.pottersheart.org to be given to people in rural Kenya.

Putting up the bunting made at Cafe Create in remote village in Kenya.

As the weeks progress we hope to introduce different crafts and invite guest practitioners to show us how it’s done and give us an opportunity to try something new.

Alternatively, if you have something you just never seem to find time for at home (such as drawing, painting, sewing, crocheting etc), feel free to bring it along and use the opportunity to progress it at Café Create!

There is no cost involved, apart from a donation to cover the cost of materials if you want to keep your creations.

We want this to be space where you can have an excuse to get out of the house, connect with others in the local community, make time for yourself and have an opportunity to be creative!

The cake doesn’t hurt either!!
